G.K.Chesterton remarked that journalism was saying 'Lord Jones is dead' to people who didn't know he was alive, and I suppose many people would have passed over the news of the death of Lord Kingsland without curiosity.
A man of many talents, he will be remembered, unfortunately, for one thing: before he was ennobled he was Christopher Prout, the leader of the Conservative MEPs.
He was known as Brussels Prout.
